The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Inés María Chapman Waugh, toured the Lidio Ramón Pérez thermoelectric plant, in Felton, in the municipality of Mayarí, to verify the works aimed at maintaining the supply of electricity to the National Electricity System.
Chapman Waugh inquired about the operating parameters of the modernized generation system, which should restart operations in the next few days to continue to supply 260 megawatt hours to the national electric power system, reported Mayari Citizen's Portal.
Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, member of the Party's Central Committee and First Secretary in Holguín; the provincial Governor Julio César Estupiñán Rodríguez; the First Secretary of the Party in Mayarí, Bárbara Díaz Ramírez, and the municipal mayor Geovanis Martín Gutiérrez participated in the tour.
The Cuban deputy prime minister pointed out the urgency of sustaining the quality processes and evaluating new repairs for the areas that did not benefit from the millionaire investment recently made in Block One.
Currently, the Number Two unit remains in operation and is contributing 140 megawatts to the country.
Osmel Maturell Reyes, general director of this industry, assures that the system of Block One should be reestablished during this August ninth.
