Sixteen people from different Cuban provinces and two residing over Canada and Brazil will take part in the event. In addition, there will be guests from Chile, Australia, Russia, Brazil, Mexico and the United States, for a total of 23 participants who will talk about topics related to the Python programming language.
With a 10 minute micro-conference format, the event will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude at 3:00 p.m. with the participation of Lorena Mesa, president of the PSF (Python Software Foundation).
In this regard, Carlos Parra Zaldívar, president of the Cuban Union of Computer Scientists in Holguin, remarked that the distinctive feature of these conferences is the presentation of short and dynamic sessions, in which the developers present their knowledge on the language or their experiences with real life projects.
Python Pizza Holguin is being developed for the first time in Cuba and also a premier in Latin America. The original idea comes from Python Pizza Naples, Italy, since 2017.
"Given the limitations to carry out an event in person, we decided to do it online, allowing the participation not only of people who are in Holguin, but also overseas through the videoconferencing platform of the UIC. The link of this tool, based on Jitsii Meet, allows the transmission to a Youtube channel, making possible the participation of national and foreign speakers and spectators" added Carlos Parra.
The talks of each of the speakers will be uploaded later independently to the UIC channel in Picta.
