Pérez Hernández offered the distinguished visitor an overview of the province, where she highlighted its values, beyond nickel and tourism.
Rivas has known about the province through visits and meetings, for example, at the University of Holguin this January 2nd.
Rivas was interested in the situation of covid-19 and its impact on culture, also on the exploitation of clean energies, tourism and the socioeconomic life of the province.
He also received information from Lupe Isabel Fernández Ramírez (*Icap delegate in Holguín) about the Canadian movement of solidarity with Cuba, especially with Holguín, where the Calixto García brigade stands out.
Gabriel David Perez Fernandez, the new director of the Chamber of Commerce of the Holguin-Las Tunas Delegation, explained the Cuban-Canadian relationship in various economic sectors.
Faustino Fonseca, head of the International Relations Department of the Government of the province, explained about Canada's participation in Holguin events, such as the May Pilgrimages.
He also highlighted the presence of Canadian students in Cuba, and vice versa, both culturally and in terms of investments.
