From now on, the tests to the foreign travelers in the first two flights arriving at Frank Pais International Airport of Holguin will be made there, whose operations officially restart in the new normality.
Located at Vladimir Ilich Lenin teaching hospital, the new lab costed one million 79 thousand 411 pesos and has medical equipment worth 246 thousand 921 pesos.
At its inauguration, Adrian Rojas, a member of the Provincial Bureau of the Party and Julio Cesar Estupiñan Rodriguez, Governor, took part in the evening of this Monday, and recognized organizations, companies and self-employed workers who participated in the execution of the premises.
The facility, the second of its kind in the countrys eastern region, will process up to a thousand samples a day thanks to its workforce of more than 30 workers, including four doctors, 21 health technologists, four computer technicians and three equipment operators.
"This institution, in which highly competent and committed professionals are working now, is a strength for the country's Health System and, specifically, for the province, as it will make it possible to bring closer the realization of PCR diagnostic tests in real time, which until now were done in other distant territories," said Dr. Amarilis Pupo, director of the Provincial Center of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology.
She also acknowledged the country's efforts to build it, even though the hardening of the United States blockade is affecting our economy.
