Holguín: Economy in times of Covid-19

Chaired by Arelis Marrero Guerrero, member of the Central Committee and the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba in Holguin province, the meeting was held with the participation of fewer persons than usual due to the current epidemiological situation, where the global organizations of the economy and the rest of the entities and organizations of the province meet at the seat of the Provincial Government.

This way, they checked the behavior of the main economic indicators of the province last May.

They leart of 42 items for export, whose production reaches values of 511.4 million pesos, exceeding the planned levels by 7.1%, for 33.95 million and, deliveries that went about 518.6 million pesos, for an overcompliance of 6.9%, equivalent to 33.3 million.

As on import substitution, 87 products avoids buying them in the world market, with production reaching values of 195.2 million, but 7.7% of the plan was not complied with. Meanwhile, deliveries are 136.3 million, with a default of 3.3%.

Twenty-seven physical productions, representing 31.0% of the total, were not complied with. These were concentrated in entities of the Food Industry, Agriculture, the Ministry of Industries and Sugar Industry.

Total inventories amounted to 1,017.9 million, an increase of 58.2 million since the opening. The highest weight within the total are: Raw Materials and Materials with 198.2, 20%. Parts and Spare Parts with 129.5, 13%. Merchandise for Sale with 140.3, 14% and Production in process with 261.0 million, 26%.

The Employment and Wage indicators achieve a behavior of the Wage Fund at 99.83%, with a productivity of 110.9%, which represents 1,151 pesos more than planned, while the Average Wage reaches 100.9%, with 9 pesos and, the Average Worker reaches 98.93%, with 944 less.

On the execution of the State budget, the Accounts Receivable closed with 203.9 million, of which 2.2 million were overdue, for 1 %. The Local Subordination Companies have a negative influence on these indicators with 1.5 million.

Accounts Payable closed with 190.2 million, an increase of 55.6 million over the previous month, of which 17.5 million are overdue, representing 1%. The Municipal Budget Units have a greater influence on this indicator with 13.6 million. There are accounts within the agency for 20.7, due within the agency for 211.0 million pesos and accounts in effect for 1.3 million.

Cumulative energy efficiency is favourable, as consumption decreases by 10.3 tons for every million pesos of net sales.

Energy consumption fell by 1.68% and sales of companies that report consumption in the territory grew by 4.08%, for a physical saving of 9,474 tons of fuel.

The province fulfills its plan for electricity consumption in the state sector, saving 5.68 GWh, which represents 1,835.46 tons of fuel.
