During the meeting, Calviño Vega added that patients from Mexico continue to be hospitalized, and are close to their medical discharge, in addition to the presence of 312 national travelers that came from Havana, who are under surveillance by their Primary Care Systems in each locality.

It was informed thta rapid tests are being performed and that 12 patients with acute respiratory diseases were admitted to the hospital.

Dr. Calviño insisted on the need of regular hand washing and the use of masks, along with keeping social distancing, as the main preventive measures against the disease.

"These 50 days without confirming Covid-19 cases is a major commitment. Moreover, the use of masks under the present climatic conditions is a means of protecting us from the Sahara dust cloud that is present in the environment," she said.

Workers' reintegration to work

For her part, Maria Elena Consuegra Gomez, director of the Provincial Labor Department, spoke about the economic impact after workers' reincorporation to wrk, both in the state and private sectors.

This reincorporation favours the decrease of the salary guarantees to which an important group of workers of the state sector found shelter.

Also due to the incorporation of the activities by the private sector together with the production and services not provided since the application of the first measures to face the novel coronavirus. For example, activities in the transport sector or in the gastronomy sector, both of which are in great demand among the population.

Another reason for their importance is the contribution of the private sector through taxes, and the possibilities they generate for Local Governments, since the income to their accounts is used in works for the local development of each territory.

Out of 18 189 workers, whose activities were suspended, 7 714 are already working, mostly in the transport sector.

Consuegra Gomez also said, following the concerns of the population, that the forms of teleworking and working at a distance have all their guarantees, so they accumulate their vacation.

On the other hand, she added that in the first phase there will be no new procedures for the granting of licenses. The protection of mothers under the wage guarantees is maintained, of which 75 of the more than five thousand have already started working. And 6 094 elderly people who live alone are now being served by the Family Care System.
