The fulfillment of the current winter campaign, land preparation, areas under watering and the contracting of agricultural productions for 2021 were part of the agenda of the videoconference hosted by the Provincial Government, meeting presided by Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, - President of the Provincial Defense Council -, and Governor Julio César Estupiñán.
In a report given by Vladimir Ricardo Estrada, delegate of Agriculture in the province, several non-compliances for various reasons were reported, as well as the municipalities involved, which were pointed out and a commitment was made to reverse the current situation.
He emphasized on the importance of watering during the dry period, thus taking advantage of the sowing in areas where bean was harvested, as well as in the centers of protected crops, also the visit to the small industries to make their productions viable, and in the specific case of the municipality of Mayarí, the checking of the neem plantations to put an end to the damages caused by the loose animals.
For his part, Santiesteban Velázquez emphasized on the need to link production forms to the still inactive placitas (small markets), a peoples demand today.
He also said that the municipal delegations of Agriculture should focus on this issue, and that the Party and the Government should check the fulfillment of this orientation.
The also First Secretary of the Party in the province called the attention on the purging of the indications made by the auditors to some municipalities on the violations made in the use and exploitation of leised lands.
On the contracting of productions, the delivery of various crops to the markets, the social commitment, as well as milk and meat for the industry and the social assignment were also discussed.
The Delegate of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture called for the exploitation of as many hectares of land as possible, such as yucca through alternatives before the lack of rain, he urged to increase the planting of short cycle crops and other vegetable as well.
He also explained that the tariffs for fuel, electricity and the transport of products are being reviewed as part of the Tarea Ordenamiento.
In this meeting with the participation of political and governmental leaders and of the Agro-livestock sector in Holguín and its municipalities, the delivery of corn, coffee, tomato, charcoal, sawed wood and other items were also discussed.
