viceprimera ministra area salud Pueblo Nuevo f AhoraInés María Chapman Waugh, Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba, acompanied by the Governor of the province of Holguín Julio César Estupiñán Rodríguez, visited this August 16th the Pedro del Toro polyclinic, with the interest of knowing first hand the quality of Primary Health Care in that health area of the people's council of Pueblo Nuevo.

There, the Deputy Prime Minister learned about some of the concerns of the people present, such as the unsatisfactory speed of patient care, who see the number of cases of Covid-19 increasing, as well as the irregular functioning of the family doctor.

Even so, she asked those present to protect themselves properly because it is the best medicine, even after vaccination.
Chapman Waugh also exchanged with the health personnel and went deeper into the attention they are receiving.

In this regard, she added that it was not the time to meet to make concerns viable, traditionally managed through the Trade Union, but that it was necessary to resort to other alternatives so that the concerns do not remain unanswered.

Therefore, she suggested person to person conversation, the telephone or the new technologies, since communication cannot be lost in spite of the pandemic moment we are living, and much more with that vital work force that deserves the greatest recognition for its unlimited dedication to preserve the health of the people.

The Deputy Prime Minister explained that more doctors and nurses will soon support the work against the pandemic in Holguín, as well as the arrival of material resources, such as oxygen concentrates for patients with respiratory difficulties, which are already in the polyclinic just visited.

She also informed on the work to be done by dentists and other health experts at the family doctor's offices to help in the search of possible covid-19 cases, a work that students of medicine were doing before leaving for vacations.

This task that the high leader of the country carries out as part of the accompaniment of the Central Level to the territory, hardly hit by covid-19, is a continuation of other visits to Holguin centers linked to the fight against the pandemic, such as the Máximo Gómez polyclinic and the Provincial Laboratory of Molecular Biology.

This not only advises, but also contributes to the control of compliance with health protocols aimed at the care of patients positive for Covid-19 or with symptoms of this disease.
