
Cuba's Deputy Prime Minister Inés María Chapman Waugh meant how pleased she is about meeting with community groups in the city of Holguín, a space that is part of the support to the work of confronting Covid-19, among other objectives, as she acknowledged in a meeting she held with experts of the province linked to the fight against the current pandemic.
It was learned that the working group headed by Chapman Waugh, and accompanied by the Governor of Holguín Julio César Estupiñán Rodríguez, and other governmental and political authorities of the head municipality, shared with residents of the Popular Council of Pueblo Nuevo of the so-called Cuban City of the Parks.
During the meeting, the president of Pueblo Nuevo People's Council, Maruja Tamayo Mir, together with other delegates of the community, reflected on the tasks implemented to contain the disease.
Emphasis was placed on the effectiveness of community diagnosis and the vitality of primary health care to guarantee timely assistance to suspected patients, patients under epidemiological surveillance or patients admitted at home.
The Deputy Prime Minister warned about the danger of the new predominant Delta strain in the province, therefore, the call not to lower our guard, not to lose the perception of risk, to demand compliance with health protocols and the restriction of mobility to reduce the transmission of the SARS CoV-2 virus in the shortest possible time.
The delegates of the People's Council of Pueblo Nuevo stated that social indiscipline continues to put the lives of many at risk and requested greater demands from the authorities and full responsibility in complying with the hygienic measures and movement restrictions.

The representatives of the people at the base emphasized the support of the community groups to the investigations in those places with positive cases to contribute to detect people with symptoms, and also to ensure the necessary isolation aimed at cutting the viral transmission.
In this meeting with Chapman Waugh, concerns were highlighted given the crowds in warehouses, pharmacies and markets, where on many occasions the required physical distancing is not complied with.
Cuba's Deputy Prime Minister Inés María Chapman Waugh, who emphasized her satisfaction for the sincere dialogue, explained to the delegates and other members of the community groups that the strength to win the battle against Covid-19 lies in the community, in the effective action from the first symptom, in the support among neighbors, although personal self-care must always prevail from each house.
