
In the presence of the First Secretary of the Party in Holguín province, Ernesto Santisteban Velásquez, the Governor Julio César Estupiñán Rodríguez and Dr. Katia María Ochoa, Provincial Director of Public Health, a Special Information Radio and Television Program was presented to analyze the current epidemiological situation of the territory and the new measures that are being adopted.
In the program, which was broadcasted on the Holguin Television and Radio Systems, Dr. Katia María Ochoa explained that this week the SUMA technology begins to be used in the laboratories located in the provincial capital city and in the municipality of Moa.
She explained that with these laboratories the daily analysis capacity is increased by 900 samples, and that in order to detect positive cases an equipment is incorporated at the Clinical Hospital which can perform a thousand antigen tests with biosensors.
In the program hosted by the territorial channel Tele Cristal, the entry of rapid tests in two batches on August 8th was reported, as well as a series of medicines, including antibiotics.
It was also informed that the capacities of the on-call body will be expanded in all health areas and that a mobile group was created to assist the areas in the most complex situation.
Dr. Ochoa referred to the creation of new centers for medium and low-risk patients and that the hospitals of Mayarí and Banes have been incorporated to assist high-risk cases from the nearby municipalities of Cueto and Antilla, respectively.
It was also reported the return to the territory of the nursing personnel that provided assistance to the province of Matanzas.
