The purpose of the working visit by Inés María Chapman Waugh, Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba, to several primary health care centers in the province of Holguín was to check compliance with the health protocols for the care of patients positive for Covid-19 or with symptoms of this disease.
At the Máximo Gómez polyclinic, the Vice Premier of Cuba talked with patients assisted there, an encounter that allowed her to know the concerns of the patients and their relatives.
The leader who listened attentively to the popular claim asked for confidence in the measures that are put into practice to face this strong outbreak of SARS-CoV2 in the country and, specifically, in the province of Holguín.
Chapman Waugh also exchanged with the medical personnel of that medical institution to learn about the incidence of the disease in that health area.
The Deputy Prime Minister also toured the Provincial Molecular Biology Laboratory where she inquired about the efficiency in achieving the center's goals, while calling on its professionals to maximize their efforts in order to obtain quality results.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba was accompanied by Joel Queipo Ruiz, member of the Secretariat and Head of the Economic Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and Dr. Tania Margarita Cruz Hernández, Deputy Minister of Health, in addition to party and government leaders in the province.
At the close of the report on August 6, the province of Holguin had more than 2,650 hospitalized patients and 1,237 hospitalized at home, in addition to 10 open events and 830 active outbreaks.
