The Empresa Integral de Servicios Automotores (EISA) has in the basic business unit (UEB) Orlando Fernandez Montes de Oca of Holguin one of its productive jewels, because in addition to fulfilling its social purpose, its workers have been able to face challenges such as the repair and manufacture of beds for hospital facilities in the province.
The director of the entity, Norge Aguilera Montaña, explains that the workers have responded to the call of the Party and the Government to join from their workplace to face the current pandemic situation.
For this reason, adds the industrial engineer, the community worked all weekend and continues with this technological challenge, since its raison d'être is the repair and maintenance of Encomed's transport - unit in charge of the transportation of medicines - as well as of the ambulances, hearses, Diana buses and the automotive equipment of Hydraulic Resources.
So far, they are close to thirty beds and have another similar number on standby, "and the Government has had a lot to do with this, since it has provided some necessary resources to fulfill the task", assured Aguilera Montaña, who commented on the recent visit to the entity of the First Secretary of the Party, Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, and the Deputy Governor Yunia Pérez Hernández, in support of these workers who did not look at the rest but at the challenge of the moment.
This unit has workshops located in the city of Holguín and in the town of Guatemala, in the municipality of Mayarí, where this task is also carried out, explained workshop chief Asael Díaz Ricardo.
The also mechanical engineer informed that the workshop in Guatemala will be in charge of the repairs of the beds of Cueto, Mayarí, Frank País, Sagua de Tánamo and Moa, and that the other nine municipalities will be served in the unit of the provincial capital city.
Undertaking this action multiplies the challenge for the workers of EICA Holguín, who have had to resort to recycling or search for raw materials in other entities due to the impossibility of importing because of the pandemic and the US blockade.
The contribution to the Cuban Health System through the repair and manufacture of beds for hospital facilities in the province of Holguin is not only a commitment but also a source of pride, assures Bernardo Sintero Santiesteban, General Secretary of the Union in the UEB Holguin, named after the martyr of the Revolution, Orlando Fernandez Montes de Oca.
The workers' representative informed that they also support an anticovid-19 vaccination center in Alcides Pino neighborhood of Holguin city, as well as the antivectorial campaign for three years now, and all this, without failing to comply with the monthly plan for 26 straight years.
