The fulfillment of the plans in the called winter season and the delivery of agricultural products were some of the topics analyzed in a meeting held at the seat of the Provincial Government, presided over by Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, - President of the Provincial Defense Council -, Governor Julio César Estupiñán, and the participation of other government leaders and of the Agro-livestock sector in Holguín, and its municipalities by videoconference.
During the debate on the fulfillment of the programs and the contracting of 2021, it was learned about the necessity to bring to its levels the supply of agricultural productions through Acopio company, as well as the delivery of milk and meat for the industry.
It was learned that the delivery of pounds per capita has improved, however it continues being a pending subject, aspect on which producers must deepen, especially in the municipalities of Holguin, Cacocum, Banes, Cueto and Gibara whose accumulated sowing plans are below the provincial average.
In the analysis of indicators of production, the farms in Beola (Gibara) and Magueyal (Cacocum) showed a very serious situation as on land preparation, a situation that compromises the delivery of several crops.
The report presented states that the province has 17 centers for the production of biological means (entomopathogens and entomophages), but that those located in the municipalities of Cueto, Frank País and Ciudad Jardín (Holguín) were detained for repairs until the third week of January, and that work was being done in the one situated in Rafael Freyre.
Likewise, there was a discussion on weeding in the municipalities, especially Banes with 50 hectares, Rafael Freyre with 35.2, Gibara with 27, Holguín with 47 and Mayarí with 21.5.
Today, the province has a total of 105,334 nursings (organic orchards, intensive ones and semi-protected crops), of which 1,74 thousand remain empty, for one percent.
In this aspect, the municipalities with the greatest difficulties are Calixto García (284 nurseries), Holguín (239), Banes (100), Cacocum and Moa (90), Rafael Freyre (57) and Mayarí (50), respectively.
They also discussed the non-payment of deliveries made, a situation that has an impact on the producers' morale.
Also the tax on idle lands, an aspect that concerns everyone because these are times to thoroughly exploit this resource, either in all kinds of crops or cattle raising.
